And voilà, a strock of paint, a few hammer blows and it looks new.😊
If you like this clock, here are the steps of its personalisation:
You will need:
-An old clock that you will have disassembled
-Acrylic painting of the colour of your choice
-A paint brush
-Wool of the colour of your choice
-Mini nails (I started with pins, but I had to change...)
-A hammer
-Tools to re-assemble the clock: I needed a screwdriver and a clamp
Start by painting the surface of the clock. You can either use spray paint, or paint a few layers of regular painting, to make it blackout.
Then, print the pattern of your choice out, preferably a simple one, that has straight lines. Be creative!
Use the mini nails to trace the outline of your pattern. There need to be one at each curve/turning point, as you can see on the picture. Then, remove the paper as you can, without removing the nails, that have to be pushed just enough to be stable.
Take your wool and tie a knot around one of the nails, then create your pattern by making a turn around each nail, to finally come back to the first one, and tie a second knot. The picture hopefully explains better what I mean...
Now, all that's left to do is to push the nails completely with a hammer. To do that, put the clock on a stable and hard surface, and hit softly each nail, to avoid deforming it. If so, it'll need to be replaced.
If the nails are too long and come out on the other side of the clock, you'll have to cut them off with a clamp.
Last step: re-assemble the clock!
This is an easy and quick project, that seriously, makes all the difference in a room.
You can of course have imagination with the painting, use many colours, draw something etc... to make this clock YOURS!
I hope that you enjoyed this article, that it gave you ideas and the desire to create. If so, don't forget to tell me, I would be very happy about it.
