It's been quite a long time that I haven't written anything, because the end of the year is always a bit tough, I believe you know what I mean😉. Well, this is a DIY I had in mind for a few weeks now... Yes, I know this isn't very complicated, but it's exactly why I'm showing it to you. I thought maybe it might give you ideas, or even show you a simple technique to fray the bottom of a pair of jeans...
Let's do it!
You will need:
- Old jeans
- Sewing scissors
- Some rings (optional)
- A selection of pieces of fabric (optional)
First, put on your jeans, and with the help of a pen or a pencil, draw a line just above your knee. Take off your jeans.
Fold your jeans leg over leg, and cut where you previously did the line. If you think it's too long, you can always cut it a little bit more.
Then, take you scissors and with the sharp side of one of the blades, rub the bottom of the jeans. You will notice that strings will come out, and gently pull them, in order to make them more or less long.
Take your pieces of fabric, and cut stripes, more or less long and wide.
Take a stripe, fold it in half, pass the loop through a ring, and pass both of the extremities on the other side of the ring, through the previously formed loop. I tried to show you the steps with the 3 stripes I had. In reality it's not as difficult as it seems. I actually think that you will do it quite naturally!
Attach the rings to one of the belt loops.
Tada!
I think that these shorts go really well with a rock band shirt, what do you think?
